Update: Mr Ibu’s leg amputated to save his life- Family

According to a statement by family, renowned Nigerian actor, John Okafor, very well known in the Nigerian entertainment industry as Mr. Ibu’s leg has been amputated in order to keep him alive.

In a statement shared by Mr Ibu’s family on his official Instagram page, he underwent seven successful surgeries, however, doctors advised that his leg be amputated in order to keep him alive.

“As of 1 pm ,noon today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery one of his legs had to be amputated.. This development has been hard on us all but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the family is still soliciting for support to aid his recovery.

“Please we are still soliciting for support from well meaning Nigerians as this stage Daddy his is still one very delicate one and he needs all the help he can get,’ the statement added.

Mr. Ibu, famous for his exceptional comic talent and appearances in countless Nollywood films, has been a source of joy for audiences worldwide. He has been battling health issues for sometime now, and this has necessitated these medical procedures as his family is committed to ensuring he receives the best possible care.
